Testicular Tumours

Many men have swellings around the testis such as cysts and varicose veins and have no problems during a lifetime. However occasionally tumours of the testicle can occur.

Most testicular tumours are cancerous but curable. The time spent waiting for treament may make a difference so any man with concerns must check with his GP as soon as possible: an ultrasound scan will give a clear diagnosis in almost all cases.

Vinca Major: common periwinkle

While most testis tumours are cured by surgery, some will need chemotherapy treatment: even in advnaced cases the cure rate wth modern drugs is very high.  Most of the commonly used drug regimes use a class of drugs obtained from the periwinkle family of plants
