Gordon Muir: Biography Gordon Muir was appointed Consultant Urologist to King’s College Hospital in January 1997. He studied in Glasgow, qualifying in 1984, and then spent time in both general practice and surgical training in the Army. Following this his higher surgical training took place at St George’s and the Royal Marsden Hospitals (London), with time in France, Egypt and Italy and the USA. He has presented research at international and national meetings in many countries, and has been a visiting profesor and invited speaker at conferences in Britain, America, Europe the Far East and the Middle East. His main clinical interests are in the surgery and treatment of prostate disease, as well as the effect of treatment and illness on the sexuality and quality of life of these patients. Research interests are in minimally invasive urology, racial and causative factors in urological cancer, evidence based urology and training..
