Location |
Patients are seen either at London Bridge Hospital, the Lister
Hospital, Chelsea, or at the private patients unit at
King's College Hospital. Regular clinics are also run at Sevenoaks Medical Centre, Kent. These comfortable and well staffed hospitals have excellent facilities for the most
modern urological diagnostic procedures to be carried out. Where possible, "one
stop" visits can be arranged due to the ready availabitliy of laboratory tests,
diagnostic radiology (MRI, CT Scanning, interventional radiology and ultrasound
are all available with specialist uro-radiology on site).
Outpatient cystoscopy and minor operations are carried
out in the consulting rooms at London Bridge Hospital, King's and the Lister Hospital. More major operations are carried out at London Bridge Hospital and King's College Hospital, both of which have comprehensive modern equipment and back up facilities.
Mr Muir speaks several languages and translators
can always be arranged if need be: please give advance
notice.

Referrals |
It
is customary for patients to be referred by another
doctor, but this is not necessary in all circumstances.
For overseas patients self referral is the norm. Medical
reports on all consultations are prepared within 48
hours and copies sent to the patient and referring doctor
It
is of course helpful if all previous medical notes,
X-rays and
investigations can be made available.

Payment |
The services provided are not covered by the NHS,
and patients are responsible for settlement of all costs
incurred. We will always be happy to give costs in advance,
although given the nature of healthcare it is not possible
to be absolutely accurate in every case. For many problems a fixed fprice package can be arranged if desired.
If you have medical insurance, we will usually be
able to settle accounts directly with the insurer. Please
be aware that some insurers will limit reimbursement
for some procedures or consultations.
For uninsured patients, unless a letter of guarantee
exists from a known source, we may ask for medical bills
to be settled in advance. This can be done by cleared
cheque or transfer, credit card or cash.
